This is a drain that will hopefully handle a steady rain. Not a 'lot' of water comes this way, but in a good rain, a fair bit. We picked up the boxes over at Ground Effects. They had 2 complete boxes, but no lid for the third one. Hmm...

Another one in the middle. You have to be in my head to see how the dirt/gravel come together so this works.

And one at this end. I may end up with another one about 30 feet ahead.

Why rent a backhoe from First Place Rental when my wife has cheap expendable labor she can use. :-)

See where the gravel is dug out to the sides. I need to use the tractor to scrape it all down that far, then fill back with dirt so the dirt is deep enough to support the grass. Shallow dirt = drying up quick after the rain and the grass being poor.

These 'things' were in the 'swamp' water. They cluster like this and they're all swimming like crazy. Anyone know what they are? tadpoles?

The Double wall 18" Plastic Culvert was delivered today.

Put one in. Use vegetable oil to grease up both the male and female parts and shove like crazy and the ends will fit together. More or less, these pipes are bigger than I expected and a lot harder to work with. Get two big guys named bubba if you're gonna try this.

Before I fill in and attach the drains.

This turned out perfect length without needing to trim it off.

After I connected the drains and filled in some gravel.

Hopefully over the weekend I get the backhoe and fill in over it more. The dirt guy is supposed to come on Tuesday.
