Garden update

June 26, 2006

Did some work in the garden, pulled some weeds, check it out.

Anyone know what these bugs are?  Billions of them in a pile all swarming..  Each the size of those specks you see in the lower part of the picture.

My guess is aphids.  They hatched when it was high humid and hot.  Today it's 70 ish and raining off and on and they are here to try to stay warm...

I sprayed them with bug killer I got last summer at Blaines Farm and Fleet, so they're all dead..

Kim painted, and we put up the chair rail together.  The colors are much better in person than in the pictures.

Tomato's on this side of the garden, then corn behind.  The white pipes (plain 1/2" PVC from Home Depot) are in leiu of the normal wire cage that tomato's get.  We'll see if they work.. It's about $1.08 per plant to do this with pvc pipe.

More tomatos.

that big ugly thing is zuchini.  I don't know why I have that planted.  I have peppers in the white pipes on the left and a row of onions.
